General Description:
Genscreen ULTRA HIV Ag-Ab, is a qualitative enzyme immunoassay kit for the detection of HIV p24 antigen and antibodies to HIV-1 (groups M and O) and HIV-2. This kit can be used for both HIV Ag and HIV Ab screening.

Items required, but not supplied:
Distilled or deionised water, sodium hypochlorite (household bleach) and sodium bicarbonate, automatic or semiautomatic, adjustable or preset pipettes or multipipettes to measure and dispense 25μl, 75μl, 80μl and 100μl, graduated cylinders of 25 ml; 100 ml; 1 000 ml capacity, water-bath or equivalent microplate incubator, thermostatically set at 37°C ± 1°C, manual, semiautomatic or automatic microplate washer and microplate reader equipped with 450nm, 490nm and 620-700nm filters.
Plain/dry vacuum tube (for serum samples), EDTA vacuum tube (for plasma samples), vacuum tube needle, needle holder and centrifuge
Disposable gloves, anti-septic swabs, absorbent paper, protective glasses, timer, container for biohazard disposables and disinfectant (for equipment and surfaces).

18 months from the date of manufacturing; do not use beyond its expiry date.

Storage and transportation:

Note that serum or plasma samples require supporting equipment and supplies, therefore a laboratory environment is recommended with adequately trained staff.
