General Description:
Forced Lift (FL) Hand Pump versions of SDWP, EDWP (India MK-II Family), VLOM-50, VLOM-60 (India MK-III Family) and AFRIDEV Deep-well Hand Pumps, complete above ground hand pump replacement sets.

A/- FL for SDWP/EDWP:

Forced Lift (FL) Hand pump version of the SDWP / EDWP (India Mark II) hand pump family, equipped for lifting water further from the hand pump outlet to an elevated water tank, with reference to Bureau of Indian Standards, IS:15500-2004 and SKAT International Specifications Rev.2 - 2007:

Supplied with:
- FL pump head assembly,
- FL water tank assembly with sockets to suit 32 mm riser pipe standard cylinder assembly,
- 40 mm. dia non-return valve (as per IS:778)

And either with NORMAL pedestal – standard
Or with TELESCOPIC pedestal - standard

The package also includes the following:
a) Spanner 32 a/f (to adjust gland nut) - 1 no.,
b) 1-1/4" wheel valve - 1 no.,
c) 1-1/4" tee - 1 no.,
d) 1-1/4" reducer - 1 no.,
e) 1-1/4" x 3" long nipple - 4 nos.,
f) Spanner M16 x 18 (new ISO) - 1 no.


B/- FL for VLOM-50:

Forced Lift (FL) Hand pump version of the AFRIDEV hand pump family, equipped for lifting water further from the hand pump outlet to an elevated water tank, as per SKAT-RWSN Specifications Rev. 5:2007:

Supplied with following FL adapted Assemblies:
-FL pump head assembly,
-FL water tank assembly with sockets to suit 65 mm riser pipe standard cylinder assembly,
-40 mm. dia non-return valve (as per IS:778)

To be supplied in combination with any of the AFRIDEV Hand Pump packages as per UNICEF Catalogue/Material numbers:
S0009188 (Variant 1), S0009189 (Variant 2), S0009190 (Variant 3), S0009191 (Variant 4), S0009192 (Variant 5, Options) and S0009193 (Recommended)

For this version D (AFRIDEV) of the FL, it is required to order both the Material number S0009197 for FL adaption, and one of the above mentioned complete AFRIDEV Hand Pump Packages, where the most appropriate Package to apply would be S0009192 (Variant 5, Options).

The FL package also includes the following:

Packaging and labeling:
The pumping set packaging depends on the shipment type.
At a minimum, as per Annex C: Clause 12.1 of Part 1 of IS 15500:2004, Recommended Packaging Procedure.

Instructions for use:
The Forced Lift (FL) Hand pump replacement and complementary parts are used to equip and transform a standard India/Afridev type pump to allow for pumping water from deep wells to both the hand pump outlet level and further to an elevated water tank, with reference to Bureau of Indian Standards, IS:15500-2004 and SKAT International Specifications Rev.2 - 2007


Installation Tools
Depending on the density of hand pumps in a given area, the installation and maintenance infrastructure and other local conditions, the number of the tool sets being ordered could vary between one set of each type of tools for every 50 pumps to 250 pumps.

Fishing Tools, Etc.:
Similarly, sets of fishing tools for retrieving dropped below-ground components could be ordered at the rate of one each of these items per 25 hand pumps, like platform shuttering set and masonry tool set could be ordered at the rate of one each of these items per 250 to 500 hand pumps, all depending on local conditions.
