General Description:
Open top Hand Pump, VLOM-65, (INDIA MARK III-65 (SKAT) - IM III 65 - Mark III type), Variant number 3 Package, with Normal Stand and prepared for corrosion resistant riser pipes - Package without riser pipes and Rods.

Technical Specifications:
Complete Deepwell Open-Top Hand Pump - VLOM-65 (as specified by the Bureau of Indian Standards, IS: 15500-2004), also known as INDIA MARK III hand pump (by SKAT International Specifications Rev.2 - 2007), and sometimes as Mark III, without Riser Pipes and Connecting Rods, but with:
Head, Handle, Water Tank, NORMAL Standard Stand and VLOM 65 Cylinder (Open Top)

This VLOM-65/India Mark III hand pump package Variant 3 does not comprise riser pipes or connecting rods. This package is foreseen combined with Risers and Rods from UNICEF Catalogue Material Number S0009155:
-65mm ND uPVC riser pipe with Stainless Steel Couplings,
-SS connecting rods with threaded couplers.

The VLOM-65/India Mark III hand pump features essentially the same above-ground equipment as the SDWP/India Mark II pump type, hot dipped galvanized manufactured as per IS 15500-2004, complete with head assembly, water tank, Normal Stand, but adapted for below ground 65mm ND riser pipes, equipped with Open Top Cylinder, to use with 65mm UPVC riser pipe with Stainless Steel couplings and with Stainless Steel (connecting) pump rods.

This pump type is suitable for pumping water up to 40 meters installation depth.
Supplied with:
1 x Head Assembly - Standard (with Handle assembly).
1 x Water Tank - VLOM-65 (with 65mm pipe Socket and Centralizers, without Cone and Cone plate)
1 x Third Plate
1 x NORMAL Stand - Standard
1 x Cylinder assembly - VLOM 65

NOTE: Risers and Rods are not included in this supply package, since these must be ordered separately on UNICEF Catalogue number S0009155:
uPVC Riser pipes with integrated Stainless Steel couplers NB 65mm, 3m long, together with Connecting rods from Stainless steel, 10.8mm diameter with M12 threaded ends, 3m long, centralizers and couplers ,
for installations up to a recommended maximum depth of 39m, the range must however not exceed the maximum installation depth of 45m.

Packaging and labelling
The pumping set packaging depends on the shipment type.
At a minimum, as per Annex C: Clause 12.1 of Part 1 of IS 15500:2004, Recommended Packaging Procedure.

Shipping Details
Sea shipment: Wooden crate packing, steel strapped bundles in HDPE sheets for the connecting rods and the riser pipes.

Air shipment: Corrugated cardboard, jute/plastic laminated sheets, steel strapped and marked, steel strapped bundles in HDPE sheets for the connecting rods and the riser pipes.

For quick sea delivery, it is essential that the minimum quantities to be ordered correspond to one fully loaded ISO 20-foot container.

Instructions for use and installation option
The VLOM 65 pump set type can be used for pumping water from deep wells up to 40 meters static water level. This package is equipped only with the open top cylinder below ground. Riser Corresponding UPVC/SS Pipe and SS Connecting Rod extension sets can be ordered through UNICEF Catalogue Number S0009155.

Corrosive Water
This pump package, Variant number 1, is recommended for corrosive water.

Stand Choice
For installation on bore wells of up to 150 mm diameter, the Telescopic Stand - Standard should be used. The Normal Stand - Standard is suited for wells in the range of 100 mm to 125 mm diameter casing pipe (For TELESCOPIC Stand see VLOM-65 Recommended package and Package Variant 1 - Catalogue No. S0009300 and S0009301).

Installation Tool Kits
It is recommended that adequate sets of Standard Tools and Special Tools (Annex D, Clause 1.3 of Part 8, Table D-2.1 and D-3, IS 15500:2004) be ordered for installation and maintenance of this hand pump (separate ordering on UNICEF Catalogue Nos. S0009326 (Installation) and S0009327 (Maintenance)).
Depending on the density of hand pumps in a given area, the installation and maintenance infrastructure and other local conditions, the number of the tool sets being ordered could vary between one set of each type of tools for every 50 pumps to 250 pumps.

Fishing Tools, Etc.
Similarly, sets of fishing tools for retrieving dropped below-ground components could be ordered at the rate of one each of these items per 25 hand pumps, like platform shuttering set and masonry tool set could be ordered at the rate of one each of these items per 250 to 500 hand pumps, all depending on local conditions (separate ordering on UNICEF Catalogue Nos. S0009182 or S0009187 depending on kit content).
