Directions for use and dosage:
1/- To obtain a 0.5 percent Chlorine solution: Pour 1 spoon of NaDCC Granules in 1.5 litre of water. Stir to dissolve. Appr. 10 spoons for one Oxfam type bucket of 14 liters.
The 0.5% (= 5,000mg/l available chlorine) solution is used directly for SURFACE disinfection.

2/- To obtain a 1 percent Chlorine solution: Weigh out and dissolve 20g of NaDCC Granules in 1 litre of water. Stir to dissolve.
The 1% (= 10,000mg/l available chlorine) solution is used to disinfect larger quantities of WATER, as following examples:
- For 1mg/l in 10 Litres water, add 1ml solution
-For 5mg/l in 10 Litres water, add 5ml solution
NOTE: 1mg/l = 1 ppm available chlorine.

DRINKING WATER:
1/- Pre-treatment/simple filtering can be necessary to ensure that the water turbidity is less than 5 NTU before chlorinating.
2/- Ensure that a minimum contact time of 30 minutes is allowed before consumption.
3/- Ensure a thorough mix, by recirculation where appropriate.
4/- Always test for residual chlorine levels. It is desirable to leave a residual chlorine level of 0.3-0.5 mg/l after 30 minutes contact.
5/- During outbreaks it is recommended that chlorine residuals should be maintained as follow:
0.5mg/l at all points in the supply
1.0mg/l at standposts and wells
2.0mg/l in tanker trucks at filling
