General description:
Add-On kit for use with standard squatting plate of dimensions 120 cm x 80 cm. This kit is designed for children and disabled people to facilitate the use when installed on one squatting plate.

Technical specification:
The kit is basically composed of a sturdy handrail and support structure together with an elevated seat.
The kit fits on top of the standard squatting plate of 120 cm x 80 cm.
The structures and their potential coatings shall be of lightweight , rigid, durable and sturdy design, climatically stable and resistant to corrosion, heat, water and not least to manual cleaning with/without cleaning agents.
The kit is easy to assemble to provide a stable and durable installation for one latrine in emergencies. It is composed of an elevated toilet seat with support frame rails capable of supporting a weight of at least 150kg.
The kit comes complete and ready to install. It includes all required accessories and specialised tools if needed.
The structure is designed sufficiently strong, sturdy and high enough to allow a comfortable support for an adult person with physical disabilities, while rails are not too distant to also allow supporting of children and smaller youngsters with or without disabilities to access the seat with ease. The elevated seat design will help to ensure that there is suitable comfort and support when seating.
The handrail and support structure are composed of steel tubes that , once assembled and firmly fixed to the squatting slab, will be strong and stable enough to securely allow one adult person lifting the person’s own weight in the arms for displacement on the slab into and away from the toilet seat. The handrail support can potentially be equipped with an intermediate rest seat or other tubular design to assist the person’s displacement.
The seat module is either an individual seat fixed directly into the drop hole area by the bottom of the module, or a seat integrated and supported by the tubular steel support frame. The seat module has a bowl extension until the drop hole to avoid splashing outside the drop hole area. The downwards tube extension is large enough to diminish dirt accumulation and slim enough to avoid toddlers to accidentally pass through.
The seat arrangement has a cover system to avoid smell and flies etc. This cover system can either be a direct on seat lid (traditional toilet flip-down lid type), or alternatively a bottom cover which can have different designs such as a silicone self-closing tube, a counter-weight self-closing horizontal door/trap, or a water-seal based P- or S-trap , under consideration of appropriateness and water availability at the installation site.
The handrail frame and the toilet seat have firm hold-down attachments (bolts or similar click-on for the seat/sliding arrangements/bolting for the frame) to fix them sturdily on a standard 120 x 80 cm squatting plate (material S5007335).
The jointing arrangements between the seat module and the squatting slab must be designed to avoid as much as possible smells and insects from the latrine pit. It can be necessary to include butyl sealants or similar with the kit to ensure appropriately closed joints. The same can be necessary for hygienic reasons with the joints between the steel support and the latrine slab, i.e., for ease of slab cleaning and to avoid dirt accumulation in these joints. Any product employed as sealing of joints shall be smooth and non-sticky.
The Add-On Kit is supplied with clear assembling and installation manual/instructions, and as appropriate including clear instructions for application of potential sealing materials.

Packing instructions:
The kit shall be flat packed/stacked the most compact possible to allow for easy and cost-effective transport.
